Who We Are
Raphael Evelyn Ofodum Girls International School (R.E.O.G.I.S) is a premier academic institution for young females, offering a high school curriculum. Opened on October 15, 2021, during a high pontifical mass officiated by Most Rev. Dr. Hilary Odili Okeke, the Bishop Emeritus of Nnewi Diocese, our host diocese. R.E.O.G.I.S is an American-Nigerian college sponsored by the Raphael-Evelyn Education Foundation, a USA non-profit organization founded by Very Rev. Dr. Anselm Benedict Ifeanyichukwu Ofodum. After the mass, our school was commissioned by Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, Ph.D., the Dike Ora of Ogidi, who was then the gubernatorial candidate of Zenith Party for Anambra State.
Our Sponsors and Owners
Founded in 2015, the Raphael-Evelyn Education Foundation, a United States non-profit organization, has a principal mission of education in Africa, specifically in Nigeria. They are the sponsors and owners of Raphael Evelyn Ofodum Girls International School Orsumoghu. The construction of the first high school began in 2016, with the first two structures housing the classrooms and dormitory facilities completed in 2019. Although the school was scheduled to open in 2019, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The foundation conceived a hybrid educational program to combine United States and Nigerian education systems. This hybrid educational concept forms the foundational philosophy of our mission, exploring a systemic inter-dialogue of United States and Nigerian educational standards.
Why an American-Nigerian School?
Our founder, Rev. Fr. Anselm B.I. Ofodum, was inspired by the educational opportunities available in the developed world. These opportunities include well-maintained learning environments, timely payment of faculty and staff, and adequate provision of resources. The founder questioned why such opportunities were not available in Nigeria and sought to create a similar environment at R.E.O.G.I.S.
R.E.O.G.I.S was established to provide a clean, well-planned learning environment with high standards of education, comparable to those in the Western world. We ensure that both faculty and students adhere to these high standards, with no room for mediocrity.
Our School Standards
R.E.O.G.I.S provides the cleanest school facility, the quietest and most conducive learning environment, the best computer lab, comfortable sleeping facilities, and the best nourishment our economy can provide. Our teaching staff are proactive, qualified, and dedicated to their profession. Our non-academic staff ensure cleanliness throughout the school, maintaining a high standard of hygiene.
